Innocent Blood

I am going to post on one political issue today. For me there is one position that I see as more important than all others.

Deuteronomy 21:8-9 Be merciful, O LORD, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel’s charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them. 9So shalt thou put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the LORD.

Psalm 139:13-19 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
19 Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.

McCain supports abortion:

"I oppose abortion except in the case of rape, incest or when the life of the mother is in danger."

2000 Campaign Website

McCain was asked whether he would reinstate the Reagan era rule that prevents international family planning clinics that receive federal funds from discussing abortion. "I don't believe they should advocate abortion with my tax dollars," McCain said, adding that he opposed abortion except in cases of rape and incest. He was then asked how he would determine whether someone had in fact been raped. McCain responded, "I think that I would give the benefit of the doubt to the person who alleges that."

Yes, McCain is soft on abortion. If I were running for President I would take a much stronger stance. It is because he is not dogmatic that the National Right to Life Committee gives him a score of 75%.

Fortunately, his running mate takes a much stronger stance.

Let's face it, neither candidate is going to change things on their own. I think that they will have the most influence on this country in whom they choose to appoint to the Supreme Court. We need some additional conservative judges. We are a judicial form of government.
